She found Nemo

TGIF!!!!!!!!
I think every parent that has kids under 15 has seen the movie 'Finding Nemo'. A great and very sweet movie for young and old. I love the adult humour that is in there and kids probably do not even notice.
DD Jinte (who is now four-and-a-half) also loves the movie (as well as our 13yo DS) but is always a bit scared of the part where all the fish swim into the diver (I guess my child isn't the only one being scared of that particular part)
Anyway, when we were in Brittany, France last summer we visited the Oceanopolis in Brest, one of the most beautiful aquaria in the world. We had been there before but we knew the kids would like going there again. The entire time we were there Jinte was searching for Nemo. And of course being ecstatic when she finally found him. That right away explains the title of this LO.
Again, I played with ink, my sewing machine and the transparent die-cuts and letters from Studio Calico. And the title was cut with my Silhouette using my own handwriting (yes, I did not forget, I WILL write a tutorial for that one of these days)
And as most of my LO's: It was made with a sketch from Let's Scrap, last weeks sketch to be more specific.....
Have a great Friday and an even better weekend!

And another one

I have said this before and probably will say it again: The LOAD challenge at Let's Scrap always makes me scrap! It is really good for my mojo and I am rally productive during those months. I ordered a few Studio Calico kits so I had lots of goodies ot play with. I really like their kits. One of the things in there were the acetate green letters. To be honest: green is not really my color and hardly ever scrap with it but these made me want to use them so I stepped outside my box and started GREEN!
I used a Let's Scrap sketch and as usual I played with ink and my sewing machine.
The story behind the pic: It is our little lady walking on a tiny bay beach in Brittany, France and she is holding her favorite doll which she calls baby. The pic comes out really dark on this LO but in real life it is so much better.
Hopefully I will be having a bit of time today to scrap again so that HUGE pile of photo's will eb a bit smaller. Maybe I should be doing multiple photo LO's, that would probably help. I try, I really try......

Have a great day!

DT challenge: Picture inspired

The current challenge at Let's Scrap is hosted by our DT member Michelle. Michelle has such a creative style of scrapbooking (which I always call 'artsy fartsy') and her work sure made me think outside my box.
Her challenge for Let's Scrap was this one:

Challenge - Picture Inspired Layout

This is a scanned photo from my own collection taken in 2001, from The Small Cloister in Westminster Abbey

1. For this challenge only layout allowed, please use only Let's Scrap sketch

2. You must use at least 3 colors or 3 elements that you see from the photo to your layout : the vines, architectural arch, fountain, gates, water, shaped bushes, creepers, overgrown weeds (?!) etc

3. Please write a short note how the photo inspires you when you upload into the gallery.

As for my LO for this challenge: I took inspiration from the green (so NOT my color to scrap with) The vintage/old look from the photo (my photo and also Michelle's) and the water, which I tried to capture with the white ink drops and a dash of blue here and there.

Here's my LO:

Again I used my own handwriting made into a cutting file for my Silhouette. I really LOVE that feature! One day I will write you all a tutorial on that. It is really really easy! Did I already mention that I love that feature?
Anyways: You still have time to participate. This challenge closes at 23.59 Let's Scrap time (the time on the main page)
I really loved participating in this one!

In the mood, mojo has returned

This month Cathy, my fellow administrator at Let's Scrap is hosting a LOAD again. For those who have no clue what a LOAD is: Simple, it stands for LayOut A Day. So basically your goal is to make as many LO's as days of that particular month. Though I NEVER (really, NEVER) make the entire 30 or 31 I always get pushed into scrapping and am much more productive than I normally would have been. The same goes for this months LOAd, I am already at 13 and normally I probably would have made only one or two.
Though there is one thing I really hate about the LOAD: It always makes me realize how I would love to be albe ot go to crops or scrap with others.
But hey, enough said, let me show you what I made so far: Most single page, single photo LO's. No cards yet. All made with Let's Scrap sketches. Enjoy!
