Playing outside / Nationale Straatspeeldag

Since 1994 we have a national day (always a Wednesday, because the children don;t go to school in the afternoon) where the attention is drawn to playing outside. A lot of streets are closed, there are all sorts of activities for kids. The goal is to make neighbourhoods safer for kids to play outside and to make sure that drivers are looking at their own behaviour while driving. A street close to us is always closed at that day and there's so much stuff to do. This year Joram was so enthousiastic about this big platform where you could jump off. They were only allowed to jump off twice and I was lucky enough to get both jumps on camera!

De Nationale Straatspeeldag bestaat al sinds 1994 en daarbij wordt vooral de aandacht gevestigd op buiten spelen en een veilige omgeving. Deze dag is de straat van de kinderen en worden weggebuikers gedwongen te kijken naar hun eigen gedrag. Veel straten zijn afgesloten en er worden veel activiteiten georganiseerd voor kinderen.

Bij ons in de buurt is een straat die afgesloten is en er is zo ontzettend veel te doen voor de kinderen. Dit jaar was het grootste succes voor de kinderen toch wel de vrije sprong (of val???)
op een luchtkussen. De kinderen mochten twee keer springen en ik heb van beide keren een mooie foto.
