Handmade Valentine Card

A tutorial for a handmade Valentine Card. A very easy card with a nice result. I started by cutting a heart shape out of cardstock (the color doesn't really matter, so you might as well use those scraps). Cover the heart with torn strips of patterned paper (I used the Blush line by Basic Grey)

A handy thing to do: First cover your heart with the strips but do not glue them on yet. Put the strips through your Xyron in the order you are going to use them.

Do not be too savvy on the strips, we are going to use both the inside as the outside (No idea???? Wait & see!) Place the heart on a piece of waxed paper. Adhere the strips to the heart and make sure they're all stuck on there good and tight! Now start cutting the heart out but try and leave the outer shape in a good condition; this is going to be the cover of your card. (You did not think that was going to happen, right?)

Fold a piece of cardstock into a card (I used a rectangle shape, but that's all up to you) and adhere a piece of patterend paper to it. I first inked the edges with StazOn (timber brown) Adhere the outer part of your heart on top of it. You might have to tear some more here and there. Draw the inner heart with a white pigment pen (I used Pentel Pigment gel white) so the heart stands out more.
Print a quote (I got one from Quotegarden, my fav quote site) on a piece of cardstock and use your corner rounder on the corners. Attach to the card. The outside is done!!!!

The inside is even easier. You still have that nice heart covered with strips? Just ink the edges (I used the same StazOn) and adhere it to the inside. I cut a little heart and put an (bronze) eyelet in there and attached it with a foamdot on the heart.Voila! There's your handmade Valentine card!
And you know what? If you're lazy you can even use the heart that we used on the inside on a different card. Then you've made two cards by now ;)
